Chase’s birthday. We surprised him at work with some balloons and a candy poster. When he got home we had his favorite meal, chicken thighs, and chocolate pie for his “birthday cake”. He would have requested pumpkin, but just a few days earlier I made a ton for him and his coworkers, so we were pumpkin pied out. Looking back, that doesn’t seem possible for either of us, but he was the one that decided to have chocolate, so it must have been true.
I promised him that I wouldn’t buy him any gifts, because he already bought himself a dog, so I made some gifts instead. A date idea book and a “board game”. I made a board game on one of our old bed sheets full of questions for each other or little activities to do, like an art project, or play a quick card game. Eat a snack. Simple and random stuff like that. It was fun to spend some one on one time together while Lillie slept.
I really like this guy, if you couldn’t tell. I feel extremely blessed to share this life with him.
I think Lillie likes pie just as much as her dad.
