My family caught a bad case of hand, foot and mouth after the Craven family reunion. Usually it's only children that get it, but Chase was the rare case of an adult actually getting it. It was terrible and miserable for all of us. Lillie's case was much more mild and didn't seem to bother her as much, but Chase ended out having to take an entire week off of work. After a week he still wasn't quite back to normal, but couldn't take any more time off.
Sores were everywhere, all over his face, inside his mouth and throat, on his ears, hands and feet, under his fingernails. It looked terrible, and I'm sure felt worse.
My sisters were nice enough to bring a sticker book for Lillie, sushi for me and some ginger ale for Chase. (it was the only thing that sounded good to him and he didn't have much of an appetite because of the sores in his mouth.) It was so kind and thoughtful, I wanted to cry. After a week inside, it was taking a toll on all of us.
Although Chase wasn't feeling completely up to par and was still weak, we decided for our sanity, we needed to get out. We made the decision that being outside was our best bet at not spreading this nasty sickness, so we took a drive and walked to bridal veil falls. It was a much needed break.
Hopefully he's feeling better next week. Fingers Crossed.
